Adult Education Series: Catching Our Breath
April 7th - May 5th 2024, 9:45 ET
Led by Dr. Dirk Smit
Week 2
Dr. Dirk Smit teaches Reformed Theology and Public Life at Princeton Theological Seminary. He is from South Africa, where he was part of the Black Reformed Church. The Reformed tradition – shared by today’s Presbyterian and Reformed churches worldwide – has its earliest roots in figures like John Calvin. Over the course of four weeks, we will discuss Calvin’s own life, work, and writings, the influence of this faith in public life in history, and the struggle for the Bible and the faith in South Africa.
