Our deepest cravings are often warning signs of a misdirected heart. Natural desires are a gift from God, but they become destructive when they turn into unhealthy obsessions. Exploring the roots of lust reveals how easily our hungers can be twisted. By recognizing red flags, establishing firm boundaries, and refocusing the mind on what is pure, true contentment becomes possible. Join us to align your deepest longings with His design. #OvercomingTemptation #SpiritualGrowth #ChristianLiving
FAITHWORK ASSIGNMENT
Take time to examine how God gave us natural and healthy desires, but lust misdirects those hungers toward the wrong things, and ask yourself what desires in your life might be pointing you away from Him. Since spiritual warning signs often appear before small compromises turn into destructive habits, consider if you are ignoring any red flags in your daily choices. Because overcoming temptation requires restraining negative influences and redirecting our minds toward what is pure, think about how you can set better boundaries to protect your heart.

Heart Disease - The Deadly Inner World of Sin
Since the early centuries of the church certain sins have come to be known as deadly. These persistent and pernicious behaviors, while not listed as a group in scripture, have a resonance and application that are timeless. This Lent we want to look at the attitudes that orient us toward these destructive behaviors, and how we as Christians can move beyond these to health. We need to have a heart checkup.

Focus on Good: Watch Your Whole Life Improve Instantly!
March 15, 2026 • Rev. Dr Stephen Heinzel-Nelson
You’re not as stuck as you think.
That pull toward things you know aren’t good for you? It doesn’t have to control you.
When you start shifting your focus—toward what’s healthy, what’s true, what actually gives life—something changes. Not overnight, but steadily. And in those moments where you decide, “I’m not going there… not doing that… not becoming that”— you’re not doing it alone. There’s a strength that meets you right in your weakness. And it’s more real than you think.

The Sin of TOO MUCH: Never Enough Worldly Stuff!
March 1, 2026 • Rev. Dr Stephen Heinzel-Nelson
"What we've simply done is today we've combined 2 of these sins into one message and that's gluttony and greed. They are a form of a spiritual heart disease because they have a common root of insatiable hunger. Whether it's food, money devices, entertainment. We are always looking for things that are gonna fill us and gluttony and greed are attempts to overfill us with the things of the world And so we're gonna call these 2 sins together the sin of too much. Too much drink too much money too much food too much stuff."

Solely Sermons | How do you find true contentment in life? | #contentment #churchpodcast #sermon
March 1, 2026 • Rev. Dr Stephen Heinzel-Nelson • 1 Timothy 6:6–10, Luke 7:33–34, Philippians 4:11–13
Sermon Series: Heart Disease - The Deadly Inner World of Sin
Sermon: Contentment
Scripture: 1 Timothy 6: 6-10
Preacher: Rev. Dr. Stephen Heinzel-Nelson
Are you constantly striving for more but still feeling empty inside? Our modern culture encourages over-consumption, pushing us to seek satisfaction in wealth, food, and endless entertainment. Discover the ancient secret to true contentment found in First Timothy. By shifting focus from material accumulation to spiritual fulfillment, our restless hearts can finally find lasting peace in Jesus. Tune in to explore how to live a life of moderation and true joy! #ChristianLiving #Contentment #Faith #SpiritualGrowth
FAITHWORK ASSIGNMENT:
True contentment comes from a deep relationship with Jesus, rather than the constant pursuit of more. Take time to consider whether you are searching for fulfillment in things that will never truly satisfy your soul. While having wealth is not a sin, loving money and hoarding it can lead to deep spiritual emptiness. Reflect on how you can use the resources God has given you to generously bless others in His name. We all have an infinite hunger that material goods, technology, or earthly comforts cannot fill. Identify what earthly distractions you need to let go of to let God fully satisfy your restless heart.

March 1, 2026 • Rev. Dr Stephen Heinzel-Nelson
"If you're looking for contentment, if you are feeling dissatisfied, unfulfilled, unhappy, perhaps it's because you're looking in the wrong place for those deep needs to be filled. I have heard story after story of people who were finding themselves in the grip of some kind of not enough: I need the nicotine, I need the time on the device, I need, I need, I need, I need, I need - who have strangely found that craving leaving them as they began to focus their time and attention on Jesus Christ."

Live Worship Replay | Contentment
SERMON SERIES
Heart Disease - The Deadly Inner World of Sin
Since the early centuries of the church certain sins have come to be known as deadly. These persistent and pernicious behaviors, while not listed as a group in scripture, have a resonance and application that are timeless. Lust, greed, envy, pride, sloth, wrath, gluttony continue to haunt the life of God’s people throughout the ages. This Lent we want to look at the attitudes that orient us toward these destructive behaviors, and how we as Christians can move beyond these to health. We need to have a heart checkup.

Stop Thinking About Yourself!
February 22, 2026 • J.C. Fowler
"Remember that pride is centering ourselves and being self-centered doesn't necessarily mean that we think good thoughts about ourself all the time It just means that we think about ourself all the time. And I'm convinced that the treatment Paul prescribes is the same - to think of others. Let's say you constantly think about your own flaws. You're always wondering what other people are thinking of you when you walk into a room. Well if you were to train your thoughts to think about how you can meet the needs of others, you won't have time to get trapped in those loops."

February 22, 2026 • J.C. Fowler • Philippians 2:1–11
Sermon Series: Heart Disease - The Deadly Inner World of Sin
Scripture: Philippians 2:1-11
Sermon: The Queen of Sin
Preacher: J.C. Fowler
Explore the ancient struggle with pride, often called the "queen of all sins," and discover its powerful antidote found in the book of Philippians. This message delves into the true meaning of humility—not as self-degradation, but as a radical shift in focus away from self-centeredness. Learn how adopting the self-emptying mindset of Jesus can cure spiritual heart disease and lead to a more fulfilling life of serving others.
#philippians2 #wayofjesus #christianliving
FAITHWORK ASSIGNMENT
Take some time to reflect on the nature of pride as a spiritual sickness of self-centeredness, where we often mistakenly believe we know better than God. Remember that true humility is not about degrading yourself or thinking you have no value; it is simply about thinking of yourself less and grounding yourself in God's truth. Your challenge is to actively combat pride by consciously turning your thoughts toward serving the needs of those around you instead of focusing solely on your own interests.
