Jesus completely drank the cup of God's wrath, so that we can continuously drink from the cup of God's grace. Jesus completely broke under God's justice, so that we can be made whole by God's mercy. Application: The meal helps us to reflect on the sacrifice of Christ. The meal provides for us spiritual nourishment from Christ. The meal reminds us of our unity with the body of Christ. The meal looks forward to a future meal in the presence of Christ. Baptism

Baptism is a specific commandment from God representing our public profession of faith in Christ.
