In other words, what it means to follow Jesus is worlds apart from what it means to follow your favorite celebrity on social media. And yet, the call of every Christian is simple - follow Jesus. In this message, we're going to look at what it means to follow Jesus, not as casual Christians, but as genuine disciples.

One of the tell-tale signs of a healthy and functional body is its ability to reproduce after its own kind. As we wrap up this 10-part series on spiritual fitness and building a healthy body of Christ, that is the Church, we look at the last command Jesus gave his followers before he went to be with the Father, which we know to be the Great Commission. And in this command, we are to make disciples; we are to multiply and reproduce after our own kind. And we will learn the foundation of discipleship - the authority of Jesus Christ that rests in us as his disciples. Without that, we can do nothing. But with that, all things are possible!

While physical healing is certainly something we all want, its simply not promised to us in this lifetime. However, spiritual healing is! Training for godliness is a lifelong pursuit of becoming more like Jesus, building up the spirit, and putting the flesh to death. And God has equipped the saints to accomplish this through a spiritually disciplined life. That can be difficult, and often inconvenient, but its so worth it in the end! And by recognizing that our sole provision for a spiritually disciplined life is the power of the Holy Spirit, for the purposes of growing our love for God and others, we can kick fear aside and become and experience all that God has for us!
