Jesus the Priest

We all wear multiple hats in our lives: spouse, parent, child, employee, volunteer, leader. We are all one person involved in several things that take up our time and energy.
Jesus was like that. He wore multiple hats. But unlike us, who can only "wear one hat well at a time", Jesus wore multiple hats at the same time. Jesus was the "triple cure" - a prophet, a priest, and a king all at once.
In this three-week series, we get to know Jesus in these three different but important ways. This week we look at Jesus the Prophet.
Hebrews 4: 14-16
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are - yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
