It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
I love Christmas for so many reasons. I also need Christmas for as many reasons.
Advent celebrates the time period between Jesus’ resurrection and His return. This seems like a indefinite amount of time to celebrate though, doesn’t it? However, Christmas comes every year.
Traditionally, the 4 weeks in December leading up to the celebration of Jesus’ birth gives us an opportunity to wait expectantly.
And I need something to look forward to.
Just like a birthday can be something a child waits expectantly on, we too can wait expectantly on the Christ child’s birth that changed the course of history.
It only requires of us one thing: hope.
