God loves life. Throughout the Bible, God has much to say about the lives of people who are outside of the womb. Poor lives. Struggling lives. Trapped lives. Scared lives. What would it look like if God’s people felt the same way as their Father in heaven and deeply cared about each life? How might the abortion discussion change if every Christians was pro-every-life?

Despite the shocking statistics, the topic of abuse is rarely touched in the Christian community. What does God say about abuse? What does God think about abuse? What does God say to a church filled with unspoken trauma and deep wounds?

Sadly the number of churched people who are abusers is no different than the number of those who aren’t. Why is that the case? The sinful heart wants to get what it wants and will cause some people to do whatever they need to to get it. Aggressive people—verbal threats, belittling slander, or physical violence—scare people into compliance. So what would our Father say to abusive people? How would he open our eyes to the damage? How would he save us from the despair? How would he help us make abuse a part of our past?

Statistically, whether we know it or not, all of us know and love someone who has been abused. In addition, all of us know and love someone who has been abusive. So, how can we be a blessing to both? How can we comfort and confront and bring healing to our circle of influence? This message explores answers to those urgent questions.
