Lent Week 1: Jesus Challenged The Church
March 1, 2017 • Pastor Tim
The first century church was filled with people who went to church for the wrong reasons (sound familiar?). So, what did Jesus do? He challenged church-goers, rebuked the religious, and proclaimed the purpose of gathering in God’s house.

Reconciled
February 17, 2021 • Pastor Mike
The word “reconcile” makes many of us think of a bank statement, a company budget, or separated spouses working things out. But what does it mean for our faith? Paul calls Christianity a “ministry of reconciliation”, claims that God was “reconciling the world to himself” through Jesus, and implores people to “be reconciled with God!” What did Paul mean? And what does this loaded word have to do with us?
Gospel
June 4, 2017 • Pastor Michael
We are all desperate for good news, for something more than the temporary high of another text or last-second victory. We want what people used to call “gospel,” the kind of good news that goes on and one. That is exactly what Paul is offering to the Romans and to us in the introduction to his famous letter.
Lent Week 2: Jesus Taught Tough Truths
March 8, 2017 • Pastor Michael
Religious divisions, frustrations with the government, and questions about marriage were the hot topics of Jesus’ day (sound familiar?). So, what did Jesus do? He taught tough truths and always remained faithful to his Father in heaven.

Righteous
February 24, 2021 • Pastor Bill
Righteous is a word rarely used these days. For older folks, it calls to mind The Righteous Brothers. For Gen Xers, an 80’s synonym for “cool.” For rap lovers, the latest single from Juice WRLD. But for the Apostle Paul, few words mattered as much as the word “righteous.” So, what does this loaded word mean? And how does one become righteous in the eyes of God?
Sin
June 11, 2017 • Pastor Tim
As much as we hate to be judged, that is what we do all day long. Judging other people’s character, choices, clothes, personality, driving, parenting, and pretty much everything else. In this section of Romans, Paul gives us an honest, unchanging standard for thinking about ourselves and for other people. (Warning: This message is not for the faint of heart!)
SERIES DESCRIPTION
June 5, 2022 • 2 Peter, Jude
Jesus’ friend Peter and Jesus’ half-brother Jude lived long enough to see the early Christian church face some tremendous challenges from within and from without. Driven by love, they wrote two short and similar letters packed with tough love and tender compassion, letters that God wanted us to read today. In the 21st century, Jesus’ followers still face tremendous challenges from within and from outside of their walls. How will we remain faithful? How will we not compromise? How will we find joy in a messed-up world. Peter and Jude know, and they can’t wait to tell us.
