Did you know you can visit hell on earth? Located in the Hinnom Valley in Jerusalem often called tophet or topheth is the notorious place called hell. It's also known as the Valley of Hell or the Valley of the Sons of Hinnom. The term hell is synonymous with terms like: sheol, tartaroo, gehenna or hades. Are all names for what Christianity knows today as an ever burning place of torment for the wicked. Is this fiery underworld real or allegory? Did pagan philosophy and paganism form and mold this belief? Or does the Bible really teach this eternal fire in it's pages? If it's real, we need to ask the question, is my loved ones in hell burning in agony for not accepting the Messiah? What about the 13th century Italian poet Dante Alighieri and his work "The Divine Comedy?" and the "The Inferno." What does this work have to do with this hell doctrine? What about the artist Gustave Doré? Did he also shape the imagery of this place?
