Just completed PhD in Organizational Leadership from the Eastern University College of Business and Leadership. My dissertation was entitled, “Considering a Relationship Between Moral Disengagement, Faith Maturity and Organizational Commitment: An Empirical Study of PCA Churches in Florida.”

Chris Donnelly - (M.Div. 2005)
Chris has transitioned from associate pastor of Valley Presbyterian Church in Lutherville, Md., to pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Cookeville, Tenn.

Ben Harris - (M.Div. 2012)
Ben is serving as pastor of student ministries at Pinewood Presbyterian Church in Middleburg, Fla. Ben and his wife Alanna have a son, Benjamin.

Ren Zepp - (MAR 2009)
Ren serves at at Pinewood Presbyterian Church in Middleburg, Fla., as pastor of shepherding and care.

Christopher Willett - (M.Div. 2015)
Christopher is serving at Pinewood Presbyterian Church in Middleburg, Fla., as pastoral intern and teaching adult Sunday school classes. He is married to Jennifer and they have a daughter, Lindsay.

Justin Huston - (M.Div. 2007)
Justin, formerly a teacher at Westminster Christian Academy, where he taught British Literature, AP European History, AP Literature and Practical Theology, along with coaching cross country and women's soccer, is now with Serge, and setting his sights on joining the World Harvest team in South Sudan. He will seek to work in partnership with the local church in Mundri to reach out to youth both within the church and in the community.

David Rea - (M.Div. 1999)
David is serving as pastor of Providence Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. He recently answered questions asked by Dr. Mike Kruger about his ministry. Read his answers here and watch a video RTS produced about him.

Mark Scholten - (M.Div. 1992)
Mark will be installed as pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Martinez on June 28. He has served as pastor of Faith Presbyterian in Akron, Ohio for the past eight years. Mark and his wife Kathy have five children. Read an article about them here in The Augusta Chronicle.

M. Lindsay Coates - (MAC 2014)
Lindsey is working with Neal Salzman (MAC '05, M.Div. '05) and Jeremiah Simmons (M.Div. '09) at their practice (Salzman & Simmons Counseling Services) in Maitland and she is also working with The Rest Initiative counseling current Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) interns. She is also the Summit Church campus leader in the Orange County Jail, Female Detention Center.

Donald R. Duford - (MABS 2015)
Rob planted Orlando North Community Church and continues to serve there as pastor.

Michael R. Francis - (M.Div. 2000)
Mike, senior pastor of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Deland, Fla., suffered a massive heart attack while on a bike ride on May 25. He remains hospitalized to address both the medical issues and the resulting anoxic-hypoxic brain injury. It is hoped that Mike will be moved to acute inpatient rehabilitation within the week. His wife, Maria, their three children, and his congregation invite you to join them in praying that God would glorify himself and supply all their needs in each step toward a full recovery.

Pete D. Hardesty - (M.Div. 2014)
Pete is the college director at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., for Young Life. He has been on Young Life staff for nearly 18 years. He is also the divisional coordinator for Young Life College in the Eastern Division (east coast), supporting the college ministry in that region of the country.

Derek Moore - (M.Div. 2015)
Derek has co-written with his sister Emily an album of original music and translations of the Psalms. The album was professionally produced and was performed by Matthew Smith, Emily Deloach, Jeermy Casella and others. The album, Highways in Our Hearts, is their first effort as they launch the Psalter Project, a movement to encourage and enable people to sing the psalms of the Bible. Elizabeth Parker - (M.Div. 2014)
Elizabeth is the director of Women in Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge, La. She was featured this past spring on Dr. Kruger's Web site for the 'Where are They Now' segment. Read the interview here.

Christopher Ruhm - (M.Div. 2011)
Chris, 62, passed away on June 30 after a long battle with cancer. Services were held at St. Stephen's Reformed Episcopal Church in Flowood, Miss. Read the obituary here. Please keep his wife and family in prayer.

Colby Wilkins - (M.Div. 2015)
Colby is currently serving as youth pastor at Orlando Grace Church. He was ordained by his church to the gospel ministry and to the US Air Force Chaplain Corps on Sunday, July 1, at 6:00 p.m.

Richard Aguilar - (M.Div. 1997)
Richard was experiencing fever and chills, and developed a condition thought to have resulted from drinking contaminated water. Richard is the pastor of Christ the Redeemer in Ecuador. Please keep him in prayer.

Joshua Fairbaugh - (M.Div. 2015)
Josh is the connections associate at Carmel Baptist Church in Matthews, NC. He will assist church members and guests in getting connected with small groups, service positions and leadership opportunities. He is also providing support and teaching to the student ministry team while they are without a student pastor.

Carol (Scriven) Griffiths - (MAC 2011)
Carol and her husband, Livingstone live on Abaco island in The Bahamas. Carol is a guidance counselor at Sherlin C. Bootle High School (grades 7-12) within the public school system. Livingstone is a customs & revenue officer with the Bahamas Customs Department, posted at Treasure Cay Airport on Abaco. They are both active members of the music and drama ministries at their church, Full Gospel Assembly, an Assemblies of God church. They also assist with the youth ministry from time to time.

Matt Koehn - (MABS 2009)
Matt, formerly the admissions director at RTS/Atlanta, was married in May to Tiffany. They are serving with Cru--Matt on campus at Georgia Tech, and Tiffany--the Ethnic Field Ministry's national director for the southeast region. They recently returned from a summer in Fort Collins, Colo., where Cru hosted its national staff conference and where Matt coached 8 Cru staff members in a course designed to "help us experience the gospel and discover how the Scriptures expose our brokenness and point our hearts to true life in Christ."

Valery Morozov - (MABS 1999)
Valery, who founded Wycliffe Russia in 1999, has returned to the director role as the previous leader stepped down in April. He says, "Today, in partnership with numerous churches and individuals, the mission has more than 50 members: over 40 missionaries (including short-term members) actively involved in Bible translation projects in Africa, Asia and the CIS, six members of the board and eight staff workers in the St. Petersburg office."

Tezar Putra - (M.Div. 2015)
Tezar and his wife Tatiana (MAC '15) recently arrived in Tezar's homeland of Indonesia and will begin planting a church. They plan to spend a week in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore meeting with local church planters and pastors. Tezar was featured along with two other Indonesian students in the winter issue of RTS' Ministry & Leadership magazine, here.

Andy Stager - (M.Div. 2008)
Andy, former pastor of Hill City Church, in Rock Hill, SC, is now with the Network of International Christian Schools, providing pastoral care and developing spiritual community among the staff and teaching Bible and theology at Yongsan International School of Seoul. His church send-off was on July 14.

Barton Swaim - (M.Div. 1998)
Barton has published The Speechwriter (Simon & Schuster, July 2015), described as "An intimate and hilarious look inside the spin room of the modern politician: a place where ideals are crushed, English is mangled, people are humiliated, and the opportunity for humor is everywhere." The book has been reviewed by the Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, Christianity Today, and many more.

Kathryn Wilkins - (MAC 2015)
Kat and Colby Wilkins (M.Div. '15) announced the birth of their son Oliver "Olly" Grey Wilkins on July 24, 2015

Glen Wilkins - (M.Div. 2015)
Glen was licensed in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP) Church in June and was approved by the presbytery to plant a church in Johnson City, Tenn., starting in August. He will start as an intern at another ARP plant in Asheville. Once they are familiar with Johnson City in about a year, he will be ordained to plant the church.

John Lehner - (M.Div. 2013)
John and his wife Judy are serving with World Witness and attended an intense six-week course of cross-cultural training.They will soon relocate to Charlotte. They are preparing for ministry in Spain. They are also expecting, and the baby is due July 31.

Eric (last name withheld) - (M.Div. 2012)
Eric and his family are serving in South Asia and are currently in language school. There's a new addition in the family and they are getting adjusted. Please pray for passport issues, and relationships and friendships in the city as several of their friends have moved for the summer.

Jake Hunt - (M.Div. 2007)
Jake is the associate pastor of Faith Community Church in the Czech Republic. His focus is adult education and discipleship. His wife is mentoring a few younger women; and in the fall, she will lead a kids' playgroup that reaches moms from all over the neighborhood. The church is training new elders in the church. They ask for prayer that God will open the doors to sign a lease contract on a new building on the university campus. Melissa asks for prayer for protection from illness. You may remember their two-year-old daughter Eliza battled cancer in 2013 and is in remission.

Esaie Etienne - (M.Div. 2004)
Esaie is serving with Mission to the World in Haiti. They continue to raise funds for the children's home and the ministry center, offering the opportunity to support these projects according to how many (cement) blocks you wish to give. Eleven of their leaders will take examinations this summer to become ruling elders and deacons. They also ask for prayer for the upcoming elections in Haiti.

Cameron Clausing - (MAR 2014)
Mike is an ordained priest at St. Michael the Archangel Anglican Church in Charlotte, NC. He wrote his thesis on "Lancelot Andrewes’ Life and Ministry: A Foundation for Traditional Anglican Priests" (thesis advisor: Dr. Don Fortson).

Ron Brown - (M.Div. 1987)
Ron has transitioned from the Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) campus minister at Covenant College to the assistant pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Panama City, Fla.

Gary Cox - (D.Min. 2007)
Gary has transitioned from the pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Muncia, Ind., to the pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church in Madison, Fla.

Mark Dunn - (D.Min. 2010)
Mark has transitioned from the pastor of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in East Liverpool, Ohio to the associate pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Schenectady, NY.

Josiah Katumu - (M.Div. 2011)
Josiah has transitioned from assistant pastor of Treasure Coast Presbyterian Church in Stuart, Fla., to associate pastor of Grace Reformed Presbyterian Church in Relay, Md. He is married to Quiana (MAC '10).

Jeff Lammers - (MAR 2014)
Jeff serves as the director of Sunday school and the director of mission at Dell Baptist Church in Blytheville, Ark. In addition to this, Jeff also manages a family farm. He wrote his thesis on "The Need for Meditation on Scripture: To Fashion the Christian Mind and Form a Biblical Worldview" (thesis advisor: Dr. Don Fortson).

Greg Schneeberger - (MAR 2007)
Greg transitioned from assistant pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Encinitas, Calif., to assistant pastor of New Valley Church in Phoenix, Ariz.

Keith Snow - (MATS 2007)
After having returned to RTS for additional coursework to earn M.Div. equivalence, Keith was recently ordained and installed as the associate pastor of Cross Creek Church in St. Johns, Fla.

Chad Watkins - (M.Div. 2011)
Chad transitioned from assistant pastor at Main Street Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Miss., to pastor of family ministries at Arden Presbyterian Church in Arden, NC. He is married to Michelle and they have three children: Esther, Isabelle, and Molly Grace.

Mike Winebrenner - (MAR 2007)
Mike is the pastor of the church plant, Christ Fellowship in Horn Lake, Miss. Sunday services are held at 10:00 a.m. at the Horn Lake Middle School Band Hall. Justin Holcomb - (MATS 1997, MACT 1997 )
Justin and his wife Lindsey have published Rid of My Disgrace: Small Group Discussion Guide). Designed to be used with Rid of My Disgrace (book), the small group discussion guide walks victims of sexual abuse along a biblical path of restoration, helping them to finally be rid of their disgrace.

In addition they have another book due out this fall entitled God Made All of Me: A Book to Help children Protect Their Bodies. The book "helps families with 2 to 8-year-old kids speak openly and appropriately about the bodies God made and how other people should and should not touch them.

Justin is an adjunct professor of theology at RTS/Orlando, guest faculty at RTS/Washington DC and canon of vocations at the Episcopal Diocese of Central Florida.

Rob Ilderton - (M.Div. 2007)
The Ildertons arrived in London in March and have settled in Hanwell. Rob's role is to reach out to international students and young adults. He will also be working on building a new outreach to the University of West London and growing the young adult ministry in the church. Rob's wife, Jenny, has gotten involved in the women's ministries in the church. They ask for prayer for the children (Miriam and Gus) as they settle into school and the community and also for the youngest child, Lottie.

Casey Johnson - (M.Div. 2010)
Casey is co-planting Redeemer City Church in Madison, Wis., with Nathan Hobert (M.Div. '04). They launched last year and are now transitioning to a movie theater just for the summer due to rules at the school with their summer programs. Casey also tutors homeless students two mornings a week to help them catch up on their studies and spend social time with them. Angela is teaching art and loves it. Casey and Angela have three children: Westyn, Emmet and Clara. They will be in Florida for a conference in June and hope to connect with friends while they are there.

Mantle Nance - (M.Div. 2010)
Mantle is serving at Ballantyne Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC as of November 2014. He previously served as senior pastor of Newberry ARP in SC. He is married to Sally and they have two boys.

Matt Newkirk - (M.Div. 2008)
Matt and his family are raising support with Mission to the World to minister at Christ Bible Seminary in Nagoya, Japan, where Matt will serve as professor of Old Testament. His PhD dissertation was also recently published under the title Just Deceivers: An Exploration of the Motif of Deception in the Books of Samuel (Pickwick, 2015). Rick Pratte - (M.Div. 2012)
Rick is the director of men's ministries and congregational life at Grace Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Lawrence, KS. He and his wife Kelli have three children. In addition, Ryan Mayo (RTS Global student) is married to Kristi and serves in college ministry and as the programming director of the Oread Center. Tyler Clements (RTS Orlando Distance student) and his wife Lindsay have four children. He serves as director of youth ministries. Ryan Randolph (RTS Orlando student) serves as middle school coordinator. He is married to Hannah and they have two children.

H. Rondel Rumberg - (D.Min. 1992)
Rondel has published Stonewall Jackson's Wife and Daughter: Mary Anna Jackson and Julia Jackson Christian, and Stonewall Jackson's Chaplain Beverly Tucker Lacy.

TJ Schley - (M.Div. 2014)
TJ has passed his final ordination trial. His ordination and installation service will be held June 14 at Calvary Reformed Presbyterian Church in Hampton, Va, where Jeff Ferguson (M.Div. '03) serves as senior pastor and K.W. "Pete" Hurst (M.Div. '72) serves as associate pastor of Christian education and small groups.

Michael Breen - (MAR 2014)
Michael is a trial lawyer in Bowling Green, Ky., and is also a writer in the process of composing a book of short stories. He wrote his thesis on Rites of Passage in the Bible (thesis advisor: Dr. Bill Fullilove).

Lauren Brakebill - (MAC 2014)
Lauren Brakebill is now serving as a therapist for Ebenezer Counseling in her hometown of Knoxville, Tenn.

Mike Cawthon - (MAR 2014)

Abraham (last name withheld) - (MAC 2009)
Abraham tells us there is growing unrest in his country of India. Religious fanatic group leaders are threatening to force Muslims and Christians out of the country in order to make them a Hindu Rashtra nation. According to Abraham, the Prime Minister gave a very delayed response to the uproar by saying "My government will not allow any religious group, belonging to the minority or the majority, to incite hatred against others, overtly or covertly. I strongly condemn such violence. My government will act strongly in this regard." His party, however was recently defeated in the Delhi state elections. Abraham asks for prayer for the nation.

Justin Denton - (M.Div. 2010)
"Jay" and his wife "Bet" (Bethany) are moving to Wilmington, NC, this summer to start a brand new Reformed University Fellowship at UNC Wilmington. They ask for prayer as they begin to raise funds for this ministry.

Ravi Scott Jain - (MATS 2006)
Ravi spoke recently on liberal arts education at the Geneva Classical Academy in Lakeland, Fla. The seminar was presented by the Cambridge Study Center in partnership with Geneva Classical Academy. Ravi has been teaching AP Calculus and AP Physics at the Geneva School since 2003. In 2013 he co-authored with Kevin Clark (MATS '08), The Liberal Arts Tradition: A Philosophy of Christian Classical Education. Ravi is also engaged in further graduate studies in math at the University of Central Florida.

Omar Ortiz - (M.Div. 2004)
Omar is serving as senior pastor of Lake Osborne Presbyterian Church in Lake Worth, Fla. His wife Kate (Maynard) Ortiz (MABS '04) homeschools their four children. Check out her blog 'Behind the Gate' here.

Robert Penny - (M.Div. 1970)
Bob is serving as a visiting professor at African Bible College in Kampala, Uganda. For their Spiritual Emphasis Week, they heard from Dr. William Barcley, senior minister at Sovereign Grace Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. They also heard from Bishop Henry Orombi, former archbishop of Uganda and now bishop of his northern home diocese. Bobby shares a picture of his plate from Culture Night, a covered-dish dinner where students cook from one of their 8 or 10 different countries.

Kelly Simpson - (MATS 2009)
Kelly spoke at a women's retreat for Hays Hills Baptist Church in Buda, Texas in February. The retreat was entitled "Seeking Rest for My Soul: A Sabbath Deeper than Do's and Don'ts" Kelly shared insights from her research which began during her time at RTS/Orlando and has continued since graduation.

Greg Bledsoe - (RTS Alumnus)
Greg has been named surgeon general for the State of Arkansas. He was chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Marshall Medical School South in Alabama. He is the son of Republican Sen. Cecile Bledsoe. For more info, click here.

Shawn Carpenter - (M.Div. 2008)
Shawn and his wife Laura, with their four boys, are laboring with the gospel in Bakersfield, Calif. Their pioneer church plant, Redeemer Church of Bakersfield, launched in 2010 and has experienced slow but steady growth, with increasing inroads into their community. Shawn has the privilege of teaching a Bible class at a local rescue mission.

Scott Davenport - (M.Div. 2008)
Scott and his wife Julie are serving in northern Peru. The Geneva School is nearly complete with help from teams and donors. "With three large classrooms, offices, bathrooms, and a spacious courtyard, the school’s environment is both healthier and safer than the cramped and hazardous facilities of other kindergartens and primary schools in the area. Demand is high, and 50 students have already enrolled." They report the 7th annual Twin Lakes Camp Peru was a great success this past year with 145 children attending from affiliated churches. There were 24 US volunteers and 37 Peruvian volunteers. A big thanks was offered to Twin Lakes Camp (a ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, Miss.) and Point Pleasant Camp (a ministry of Independent Presbyterian Church of Savannah, Ga.) for bringing the joys of summer camp to the children in Trujillo. They also have a university ministry, and an apprenticeship program.

Byron Snapp - (M.Div. 1973)
Byron has recently retired and he and his wife are in the process of moving to Bristol, Tenn.

Chris Talley - (M.Div. 1999)
Chris and his wife Beth have been serving at Knoxville Redeemer Church for 12 years. He has now been called to serve at Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church.

Kent Muhling - (M.Div. 2001)
Kent and his wife Yuko (MAC '00) are serving in Sendai, Japan, with Asian Access through SIM. They held their second 'movie talk' in November and watched the film Rudy. Afterwards, they discussed their dreams and failures. They also held a Christmas dinner. In January they launched Grace Center Church Sendai. Yuko helps plan and host events, counsels and homeschools the children. They ask for prayer for their children and their relationships with each other, for Yuko and her fatigue, and for Kent to be a husband and father with the Spirit's grace, wisdom and patience.

Chris Brock - (M.Div. 2012)
The Brocks have settled into their new home in Albertville, in France. They will be working on learning the language there. They ask for prayer that they would be "humble in our learning, bold in our willingness to make mistakes and dependent on the grace of God to supply us with what we need for today, while not worrying about tomorrow." They also ask for prayer for their young children as they adjust to school. Follow their blog here.

Jason Tippetts - (M.Div. 2011)
Jason is the pastor of Westside Church in Colorado Springs, Colo. His wife Kara Tippetts, well known blogger of "Mundane Faithfulness," and mother of four, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 22, 2015. Please pray for her family and loved ones and that the seeds sown through her faithful life, struggle with cancer, and death would be used. The Washington Post published this article just prior to her passing.

Mike Kuhn - (M.Div. 2000)
Mike and his wife Stephanie have arrived in Lebanon. They recently joined World Outreach. They mention winter storms and political storms in their region and including a recent influx of Assyrian Christian refugees fleeing the violence of ISIS in their communities. They were "deeply struck by the oneness and courage and strength of the 21 men who died because of Who they aligned themselves to...Jesus and His church." They ask for prayer for peace in the region. Mike recently preached in Arabic at the local church. He is also supervising and teaching a module of study on discipleship in April. Stephanie is tutoring and mentoring.

Curt Heffelfinger - (D.Min. 1998)
Rev "Heff," pastor of Orlando Grace Church in Altamonte Springs, Fla., wrote a blog recently on "Something I'll Never Say Again." Let's keep this brother and his wife in prayer. Read the blog entry here. In November 2014, The Joshua Place Playground was completed with the help of church members. The playground was constructed in memory of his son Josh and also refers to Joshua 1:9. Curt and Nancy also have a son Joel.

Bee Kirk - (M.Div. 2011)
Bee was ordained as a teaching elder and minister of the Word on Nov. 11, 2014 in the Central Florida Presbytery, PCA.

Henry Beaulieu - (M.Div. 1995)
In the summer of 2014, Henry began serving as the assistant pastor and director of counseling at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Statesboro, Ga. He was formerly the assistant pastor at Eastwood Presbyterian Church in Montgomery, Ala. He still serves as the State Chaplain for the Alabama Army National Guard. He has been certified as a biblical counselor with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors (now Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) for over 17 years. He and his wife Gretchen have four children: Faith, Margaret, Jonathan, and Jackson.

Russell Smith - (M.Div. 2000)
Russell, pastor of Covenant-First Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, has just released Geneva Two: A Parable of Christian Community and Calling. "Written as the oral history of a fictional intentional community, Geneva Two tells the stories of people whose faith has been shaped by sharing life together. Come experience the joys, the pains, and the challenges of living in authentic Christian community." Russell and his wife Tammy have two daughters.

Jim Wehner - (MA 2008)
Jim has been named the second president of FCS Urban Ministries in Atlanta. He succeeds Dr. Bob Lupton who founded the ministry and led it for four decades. FCS Urban Ministries "partners with under-served neighborhoods to provide innovative and holistic development that produces flourishing communities where God’s Shalom is present."

Jonathan Whitley - (M.Div. 2006)
Jonathan and his wife Tara live in Southern Illinois with their three sons: Ross, Clay and Graham. Jonathan is the pastor of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Anna, Ill and is working on his D.Min at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

Tara Whitley - (MATS 2006)
Jonathan and his wife Tara live in Southern Illinois with their three sons: Ross, Clay and Graham. Jonathan is the pastor of First Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Anna, Ill and is working on his D.Min at Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis.

Steven W. Bateman - (D.Min. 2004)
Steve has published Brother, Stand Firm! Seven Things Every Man Should Know, Practice, and Invest in the Next Generation (Wipf & Stock, November 2014). From the description: "This book is designed to help men get started in this most important adventure of their lives." Steve is the senior pastor of First Bible Church in Decatur, Ala. He and his wife Lori have two children.

Robin currently leads the senior saints ministry and serves on the teaching team at Covenant Life Church in Gaithersburg, Md.

Richard Brueck - (M.Div. 2014)
Richard was chosen to serve as senior minister at Mint Hill Presbyterian Church in Mint Hill, NC. He worked as pulpit supply this past year while the church searched for a pastor. Edward J. Foster - (M.Div. 1999)

Robert Ilderton - (M.Div. 2007)
Rob and Jenny and their children have been approved to move to London after they secure their visa. They are currently in Belgium for training and are living in a conference center with other missionary families. They ask for prayer for safety in travel and for a smooth visa process.

J. Phillip Luther, Jr. - (M.Div. 2007)
Phil and his wife Kay, serving with Mission to the World in Greece, welcomed a new short term team in January. They delivered cans of milk and toys to needy families in the area. They also offer one-on-one discipleship, small group Bible studies and discussion groups to encourage and strengthen the faith of believers.

Recently the Greek people voted for a new ruling government. Although "the winds of change in leadership are expected by many to bring hope to a weary people," the Luthers know "the only true, eternal message of change and hope...is the hope that is within us."

If you have books, audio books, Bible study materials, or seminar/conference materials on CD that are no longer useful for you, pertaining to parenting, marriage and theology, the Luthers will be in the US for a brief visit in May to receive them.

Cynthia Ruble - (MATS 2000)
Cynthia is serving in Japan and runs a homestay for pregnant women. She shared that three babies were born and adopted out during Christmas the holidays. Two came suddenly and one is still in ICU. There are two other women that called her recently, one in her 20's and one in her 40's who were set on abortion but seemed to be reconsidering. She asks for prayer for them as they decide.

Erin (Burns) Schwant - (MAMFT 2004)
Erin is the director of the Early Education Center at at St. Paul's Episcopal, in Mobile, Ala. After establishing the center, it was voted "Mobile's Best Nursery School" in less than a year, and now serves 80 families. She also serves the community through her involvement with Mirror Lake Racquet Club and Adoption Rocks. She is married to Troy and they have three children with another due this spring. She was recently featured here in Mobile Bay Magazine. (Scroll down to find her).

Charles R. Young, III - (M.Div. 1974)
Charles passed away on July 14, 2014. He had been suffering for 15 years with pain caused by a brain hemorrhage. He was living in Saranac, Michigan. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America and ministered to congregations in Courtland and York, Ala. After receiving his Ph.D. in Art Criticism and Cultural Anthropology, he became professor of the history of art and architecture at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich. He is survived by his wife Deborah, his daughter Jessica Start, son Stokes (Jesamyn) and grandson "Gus", parents Charles and Bettie, sister Ireve and brother Leroy and mother-in-law, Jimmie. Ryan Fraser - (MABS 2013)
Ryan is serving as instructor of biblical languages at Reformation Bible College in Sanford, Fla., where he has also been involved in producing the new edition of The Reformation Study Bible. Ryan and his wife Heidi were married on July 26, 2014.

Michael Johnson - (M.Div. 2003)
Michael is planting Trinity City Church, a new church in Minneapolis near the University of Minnesota. He and his wife Joanne have five children. Read more here.

Sean, currently interning at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, Miss., and who also served as stated pulpit supply for Pine Ridge Presbyterian Church in Natchez, Mississippi, will be going to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, Va., in late January with his wife Sarah, to serve as assistant to the pastor.

Greg Norfleet - (M.Div. 1994)
Greg, serving as associate pastor at Christ Community Church in Chapel Hill, NC., is pursuing a D.Min from Westminster Theological Seminary. He is married to Cindy and they have two children.

Jeff Vogan - (MABS 2010)
Jeff has been the director of worship at Willow Creek Church in Winter Springs, Fla., since 2004. He and his wife Debbie have four children.

Michael Knight - (MABS 2013)
Mike is serving in Namibia, teaching at Namibia Evangelical Theological Seminary. Michael shared a video on his blog from Youth for Christ's summer camp in Namibia where he joined in to help serve. He led the red team and hosted the Bible quiz competition. In January he will team teach two courses on "The Theology of God and the Church." Michael Lee - (M.Div. 2005)
Michael and Tricia have found an apartment in Panama where they will continue to serve with Mission to the World, but now in a new area. They are trying to sell most of their household items in Monterrey, Mexico. Please pray the move goes smoothly for the items they are taking with them and pray for the work they will begin to do with the small church in Panama.

Al Baker - (M.Div. 1981)
Al Baker serves as the director of the Alabama Church Planting Network for the Presbyterian Church in America, and is also an evangelist with Presbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship. He has just independently published Essays on Revival: In Wrath May God Remember Mercy (September, 2014). These are 62 of his weekly devotionals he has written from 2010 - 2012 on revival. The book is "a cry for earnest pursuit of the Holy One, believing that without true revival, our nation is doomed to mediocrity or worse."

Marco Escalante - (M.Div. 2011)
Marco and his wife Diana are still looking for a larger facility to hold there average of 100 people attending services at Church Cordero de Dios in Mexico City. This summer, four people from St. Andrews Chapel in Florida helped them with a conversational English club for children and they built furniture and bookshelves for the school that supports the church. They have acquired the sound system they needed and also have a person to operate the equipment now.

Elizabeth Pennock - (MAC 2011)
Elizabeth has been working at Pioneers for 13 years. This fall she moved into a new part-time position in the member development department as the consultant for staff development and strategic initiatives. Earlier this year she became licensed as a mental health counselor and began working at Agape Counseling Center in Winter Park, Fla. She works with Caleb Grover (M.Div. '05, MAC '05), who started the center in 2007, and Denise Kirsop (MAC '09). Her co-workers are both licensed mental health counselors.

Paul Roberts - (M.Div. 2009)
Oklahoma Baptist University recently appointed Paul VP/CIO in addition to his role as dean of libraries. He says, "I am very grateful to serve in this way, and am very grateful to RTS for the ThM in Reformation Studies that qualified and prepared me to contribute to this university in instructional capacities as well."

Jon D. Payne - (MATS 1998)
Jon launched Christ Church Presbyterian in Charleston, SC, on June 9, 2013. Their morning worship service attendance is now 170-180 and evening worship is 60-80. He is leading a men's Bible study using J.I. Packer's Knowing God and also recently began a six-month men's leadership training course. The women meet monthly studying Ephesians ("Let's Study Ephesians" by Sinclair Ferguson) and weekly studying Jonah. A fellowship for young moms will start next month and a group from a nearby university gather to study Paul's letter to the Galatians. The director of music is organizing and leading seasonal choirs and musical ensembles, and his wife, a world-class violinist, regularly plays the violin in their services. Jon asks for prayer that God would raise up godly elders and deacons for their congregation and pray for resources to secure a strategic permanent location for them.

Dan Sartor - (MAC 1997)
Dan is the director of counseling services at The Cooper Counseling Center at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Ill, and is the associate professor of psychology there also.

Alyson Averitt - (MABS 2005)
Alyson is the women's ministry coordinator for Providence Presbyterian Church in Dallas, Texas. She was recently featured for Dr. Mike Kruger's 'Where Are They Now?' series on his blog. Read the interview here.

Rice Broocks - (MATS 1994)
Rice is the author of God's Not Dead: Evidence for God in an Age of Uncertainty and is senior minister at Bethel World Outreach Church in Nashville where he provides oversight for this multi-ethnic, multisite church, meeting in locations in Middle Tennessee, Texas, and Arizona. He also holds a doctorate in missiology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. He lives in Franklin, Tenn, with his wife Jody and their five children.

Victor Cruz - (M.Div. 1997)
Victor, an RTS D.Min. student, planted Redeemer/Mexico City (El Redentor) in Mexico. Their first daughter church will be planted next year in Iztapalapa. Recently they hosted a meeting for several organizations fighting human trafficking. They also help the Street Children Ministry and will celebrate Christmas at their church with a group of 30 kids. They are also working together with church members to raise funds for a prosthetic leg for a young lady who has been waiting for it for over a year in a children's home. Victor and his wife Teresa ask for prayer "for the social distress that we are facing in Mexico," and "that the church of Christ will be a light in the midst of darkness."

Josh is the director of counseling services at Beacon College in Leesburg, Fla. He also has a private practice in Maitland called Abundant Life Counseling.

David has received and accepted a call as associate pastor of Church Creek Presbyterian in Charleston, S.C.

Danny Iverson - (M.Div. 2013)
Danny is in his second year of his church planting residency at Perimeter Presbyterian Church in downtown Atlanta. He is busy building and strengthening a launch team, and raising funds to launch a church. He was ordained in May in the Presbyterian Church in America and is now a fifth generation pastor. Danny tore his rotator cuff and part of his labrum in a hit and run motorcycle accident and is scheduled for major surgery in December. Please keep him in your prayers. Also, congratulations to Danny and Kimberly on the birth of their son Judah, on Aug. 26. And that makes #6!

Joshua Moore - (M.Div. 2013)
Josh is the pastor of United Church of South Royalton, VT. He and his wife Megan are celebrating one year in Vermont. They will soon be starting up a new service on Wednesday nights at Red Door hoping to draw in youth and law school students in the community.

Stephen Phelan - (M.Div. 2004)
Stephen is the lead pastor at Bridge in San Diego, Calif. He previously was the director of Mercy Ministry for Harbor Presbyterian Church and an assistant church planter. In September 2007, he and his wife Bradford along with a team planted Harbor Mid-City Church, a bilingual, multi-cultural church in the Mid-City, now called Bridge. They meet at 4474 El Cajon Blvd., in San Diego. He and his wife Bradford have three children.

Brian Sleeth - (M.Div.M 1996)
Brian is the executive director of The Christian Outreach Center of Baton Rouge, a Christ-centered homeless prevention ministry in downtown Baton Rouge. He operates an outreach center, a transitional employment service (day labor), and two boutique thrift stores ("The Purple Cow" located near LSU and in SE Baton Rouge). They provide one-time assistance (financial and/or other services), life coaching (through life skills modules), and mentoring. They also offer addiction counseling, Bible Studies, and will be starting Jobs for Life in 2015. Each month, they serve over 1,000 people. Peter Smith - (D.Min. 2010)
Pete is the executive director of Wilkinsburg Christian Housing in Pennsylvania. WCH is an affordable housing initiative of Covenant Fellowship Reformed Presbyterian Church. They are now officially a non-profit corporation. They have added two new board members. The electrical wiring on the Princeton Blvd. project is complete and awaiting inspection. Soon they can close up the walls, turn on the power and begin weatherizing the windows.

Cory Brock - (M.Div. 2013)
Cory is working on his Ph.D. at the School of Divinity, New College, University of Edinburgh. Cory previously served at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson as an intern when he attended RTS.

Jonathan Culley - (M.Div. 2005)
Jonathan is serving as associate pastor at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Palm Bay, Fla. He is in charge of discipleship, leadership development and local missions. He is married to Michelle and they have four boys (Josiah 6, Trenton 4, Elias 3 and Rylan 1).

Dale was in a serious car accident near Baton Rouge, and underwent several surgeries but is now up and awake and home from the hospital. Dale formerly pastored Grace Community Church in Oscoda, Mich.

Elahe Hessamfar - (MABS 2009)
Dr. Elahe Hessamfar, who did Ph.D. studies at the University of Aberdeen, has now published her research. Her book In the Fellowship of His Suffering: A Theological Interpretation of Mental Illness--A Focus on "Schizophrenia" is now available to be purchased here. "'Schizophrenia' is by many accounts the most devastating illness of our time. In this book, Elahe Hessamfar uses her personal encounter with her daughter's illness to bring the reader to experience the pain and anguish of those who suffer so intensely. She candidly discusses the gripping and dark realities her family has faced in the midst of this journey and exposes that the ride isn't easy, but it can be fruitful and purposeful, and it can be a journey of joy and peace if understood from the intended perspective."

Robert Hill - (M.Div. 2004)
Rob and Megan Hill celebrated 10 years of ministry with their congregation on Oct. 5 at Pinehaven Presbyterian Church in Clinton, Miss., where Rob is pastor. Megan is a regular contributor to Her.meneutics and to The Gospel Coalition and is the author of articles for Focus on the Family, Christianity Today, byFaith, The Aquila Report, The Clarion-Ledger, The Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, reformation21, and The Council for Biblical Manhood and Womanhood and keeps a blog at www.sundaywomen.com developed to challenge and encourage other women in their place of ministry.

Tim Pitzer - (M.Div. 2014)
Tim and his wife Steph have been thrilled being in youth ministry for the first time at Hilton Head Presbyterian Church. They are also excited to be expecting their first child March 18th. Tim begins the process of ordination, hopefully finishing with Palmetto Presbytery by January. They have enjoyed a wide range of friends and fellowship at the church and appreciate the support of the RTS community and look forward to continuing to be involved.

Joshua Rieger - (M.Div. 2010)
Josh is serving with Mission to the World (MTW), and moved 9 months ago to Hexham, UK, where he is the church planter for a new work. He is serving as a minister with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of England and Wales (EPCEW). EPCEW and MTW have had a partnership for almost two decades. The plan is that what began as a Bible study in his home in February will begin Sunday services, February 1, 2015, as Hexham Presbyterian Church. Josh and his wife Gina have two children, and they are expecting a third in November.

Vanlal is now retired and mostly writing a lot in India.

Howard Cole - (M.Div. 2010)
Howard is the new lead teaching pastor of Metro North Church in Goose Creek, SC. He was formerly assistant pastor of Church of the Redeemer in Monroe, NC. He is married to Alleyn and they have five children: Taryn, Stephen, Paige, Chris and Sam.

Wesley Horne - (M.Div. 1983)
Wesley is the regional executive director in the southeast of PastorServe, a ministry that comes alongside pastors, ministry leaders and their families to offer coaching, crisis care, and resourcing. They also work with a large number of pastors in Haiti.

Alisa Jones - (MAC 2014)
Alisa Jones is working as the MAC program administrative assistant at RTS/Orlando, assisting Dr. Jim Coffield, Dr. Scott Coupland and in addition, Dr. John Frame and Dr. Chuck Hill. Her husband Richard is also studying to receive his MAC degree at RTS.

Daniel Kang - (M.Div. 2003)
Daniel has moved to Hawaii and is a director of the Chaplain Family Life Center (CFLC) at Schofield Barracks, HI. He is supervising two counseling interns who have completed their master degree and working toward a state licensure of Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and operating the center.

In August 2014, Hong Youn became the senior pastor of Cleveland Korean Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Ohio. He is married to EunOk and they have a daughter Joy and son John.

Matt Howell - (M.Div. 2009)
While at RTS, Matt set the Westminster Shorter Catechism to music to help him and his peers get through the Catechism exams. He has now made the songs for sale to the public. "The Mattechisms" are all 107 questions of the Westminster Shorter Catechism, set to music by Matt. Sandy Trzcinski - (MAC 2010)
Sandy is serving as a licensed mental health counselor at Open Doors Counseling Center in Winter Park, Fla. She also has a certificate in play therapy and enjoys helping missionary kids and their families thrive. Her husband John Trzcinski (MAC '10) is a crisis manager at Cru.

Phillip Rodney Wood - (MABS 1989)
Rod contributed an essay to a book released in September titled Rulers: Gospel and Government by Chuck Garriott. Rod and his wife Becky have been involved in ministry for over 35 years. Steven has a new book coming out in January titled John Knox: Fearless Faith (Christian Focus Publications).

Alexander D. Mark - (M.Div. 2013)
Alex was ordained on Aug. 24. He planted a church in his hometown of Beaufort, SC, in conjunction with Independent Presbyterian Church in Savannah. Beaufort is a retirement/military town. The church has become a PCA mission church where he is the pastor. He believes "a long-term sustained ministry of Word, sacrament, and prayer will produce wonderful results for time and eternity." He also would like to pursue a Ph.D. degree.

Matthew R. Moynihan - (M.Div. 2012)
Matthew was ordained and installed as a military chaplain of the US Army National Guard on June 6. The commission convened at Johnston Memorial Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, NC. The service followed at the church.

Micah Ngussa - (MATS 2009)
Micah praises God for recently baptizing 16 kids at the Tanzania Children's Rescue Center where he and his wife Happiness are serving. A new graduate of Nassa Theological College has now joined in working with them for outreach and secretarial matters. They have begun the construction of the secondary school and have started to use part of the new building. They ask for prayer for the kids to grow spiritually, for the workers to show love to the kids (some are in special need of counseling), for salaries, food, desks and the construction of toilets (as they have to walk to the other property to use the toilets.)

David J. Baxter - (M.Div. 2013)
David was ordained and installed as assistant pastor of Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC, on June 29.

Jake Belder - (MATS 2010)
Jake has been selected for ordination in the Church of England and is training to be a vicar at Cranmer Hall, part of Durham University. He is doing their doctoral programme, a DThM.

Tim Burkholder - (MAC 2014)
Tim is working as a registered mental health counselor intern at Open Doors Counseling Center in Winter Park, Fla.

Carol is beginning a Ph.D. in systematics at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Kent T. Hinkson - (D.Min. 1993)
Kent, 71, was tragically killed in Durham, NC, in August. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. He was a volunteer minister at All Saints Church in Durham. He leaves behind his wife Ruth and daughter Heidi.

Hansoo Jin - (M.Div. 2012)
Hansoo is currently serving as a church planting apprentice and assistant pastor at Abbott Memorial Presbyterian Church. He hopes to plant a church in east Baltimore in the coming months. He and his wife Wana have a brand new daughter named Jubilee. Congratulations!

Daryl Wattley - (M.Div. 2014)
Daryl has been called by Heritage Presbytery to be the first Reformed University Fellowship minister at Delaware State University in Dover. Daryl has already made the move to Dover and is busy launching an RUF ministry on a new campus.

Michael Aitcheson - (M.Div. 2011)
Michael is planting Christ United Fellowship in the southeast region of Orlando, Fla. They are currently looking to rent space in the area. Please keep them in prayer regarding this matter.

J. Michael Blackston - (MAC 2006)
Michael and his wife Rachel (MAC '06) are serving as licensed mental health counselors at Redeemer Counseling in Orlando, Fla. Michael works with a range of issues including trauma and abuse recovery, relationship issues, gender identity, masculinity and femininity, depression, and anxiety.

Rachel specializes in working with women dealing with relationship issues, depression, and anxiety, with a special interest in sexual abuse recovery, codependency, infertility, and gender identity. She also teaches a MAC course titled "Career & Lifestyle Development" at RTS/Orlando every other summer.
