The Lord Our Righteousness

In our final week of the series, Free Prize Inside, we encounter Jeremiah's prophesy to the nation as they experience judgment for idolatry and continued disobedience to God. Jeremiah's prophesy includes a message of hope. That is, Jeremiah prophesizes of a coming King from the lineage of David who will bring righteousness to the earth. Moreover, this king would be Yahweh Tsidkenu, The Lord our righteousness.
The Lord Our Peace

In the book of Judges, there is a recurrent theme of disobedience, oppression and salvation. Judges 6:1-10 identifies one of these cycles. Having disobeyed the Lord, Israel was delivered into the hands of the Midianites for seven years. Overwhelmed by the torment inflicted upon them by the Midianites and other tribes allied against them, the Israelites cried out to the Lord. This week's passage shows how God extends peace, shalom, amidst dire circumstances.
The Lord Thy Sanctifier

In addition to leading the people of Israel out of Egypt, Moses is renown for his face-to-face encounters with God. This week we will take a look at one of his encounters with God on Mount Sinai. In Exodus 24, God asks Moses to spend 40 days and 40 nights with Him on the mountain. The following chapters (Exodus 24-31) describe Moses' experience with God, as he received instruction regarding the people of Israel. Within this passage of Scripture, God reveals Himself as the Lord Who Sanctifies us, namely Yahweh Maccaddeshem.
The Lord Our Banner

The Israelites faced various obstacles after leaving Egypt and beginning their journey to the Promised Land. While camping at Rephidim, the Amalekites fought against them. These nomadic descendants of Esau wanted to drive the Israelites of the land and secure their own territory lines. This week we will examine the biblical account of the Israelites battle with the Amalekites. We will uncover how God brought His people to victory, and why Moses called God The Lord my Banner.
The Lord Who Heals

Exodus 14 describes the Israelites miraculous deliverance from the Egyptians. God parted the Red Sea affording the Israelites safe passage. God then released the waters to destroy the pursuing Egyptian army. Accordingly, the Israelites responded to this mighty act of God with singing and praise to God. This week we will examine the events immediately following the Israelites deliverance as they traveled the Sinai Peninsula
The Lord Will Provide

God presents us with tests in order to develop our relationship with Him. Abraham found himself in his own test, given by God. He encountered many of tests throughout his life. These are recorded beautifully in the Old Testament. Abraham did well on some of them like the one in today's passage, but not so well on others. We will see how his obedience sets the stage for God to reveal Himself to Abraham.
