The Lord Our Righteousness

In our final week of the series, Free Prize Inside, we encounter Jeremiah's prophesy to the nation as they experience judgment for idolatry and continued disobedience to God. Jeremiah's prophesy includes a message of hope. That is, Jeremiah prophesizes of a coming King from the lineage of David who will bring righteousness to the earth. Moreover, this king would be Yahweh Tsidkenu, The Lord our righteousness.

The Lord Our Peace

In the book of Judges, there is a recurrent theme of disobedience, oppression and salvation. Judges 6:1-10 identifies one of these cycles. Having disobeyed the Lord, Israel was delivered into the hands of the Midianites for seven years. Overwhelmed by the torment inflicted upon them by the Midianites and other tribes allied against them, the Israelites cried out to the Lord. This week's passage shows how God extends peace, shalom, amidst dire circumstances.

The Lord Thy Sanctifier

In addition to leading the people of Israel out of Egypt, Moses is renown for his face-to-face encounters with God. This week we will take a look at one of his encounters with God on Mount Sinai. In Exodus 24, God asks Moses to spend 40 days and 40 nights with Him on the mountain. The following chapters (Exodus 24-31) describe Moses' experience with God, as he received instruction regarding the people of Israel. Within this passage of Scripture, God reveals Himself as the Lord Who Sanctifies us, namely Yahweh Maccaddeshem.
