March 3, 2024 • Matt Fulmer

In this story Jesus encounters a centurion. This is a man who is part of the Roman military, an enemy, an occupier, a foreigner and non-Jewish. Yet Jesus declares him faithful and heals his servant. We will explore what this means for those outside the church who are not believers.

March 24, 2024 • Kayla Meredith • Luke 17:11–19

In this last scripture, Jesus is traveling from Galilee to Samaria (enemy territory for Jews). On the outskirts of a village there are 10 lepers. These lepers were literally marginalized or alienated, forced to live on the edge of the community for fear of their uncleanliness. In addition, they were not considered properly Jewish. We will talk about those that are pushed to the edge or marginalized today, and what it means that Jesus stopped and engaged those that the culture pushes away.
