Do You Have A Mustard Seed?

November 5, 2017 • Anne Trufant

Even though it’s one of the smallest seeds, the trees can grow up to 20 feet tall and 20 feet wide. The tree can grow in arid, dry climates and thrive in all kinds of soil. So we can see the mustard seed as a symbol of our faith that can be tested in “dry times” and the most difficult of circumstances. Even if the tree is cut down to the trunk, it can grow back again. In this Focus show, Anne teaches us that mustard seed faith is that even during times of “pruning” we can overcome and come back stronger than ever just like the mustard tree that’s been severly pruned if only a little bit of faith remains. Over and over Anne reminds us that even when we are planted in poor soil we can still grow even if we have a smalll amount of faith. So get the faith of a mustard seed and don’t be afraid to use it!

The Ten Commandments

Fr Tony Ricard

Judaism is founded on them, Christianity holds them close to its heart. But do the Ten Commandments still have any real significance for us today? Do they still count? Do they matter? And could following them do us any good at all? Author, priest ,and one of the most gifted communicators of this generation, Fr. Tony Ricard believes he has the answer! Are the Ten Commandments still relevant? Absolutely! In this Focus special, we explore the possibility of a world where love guides every action, where communities place others before themselves and where the ancient commandments are as relevant today as they were to a collection of refugees wandering in the desert.

From Guilt To Grace

Karen Perez

Many women who choose abortion are lost, scared, humiliated, guilt ridden, and feel very alone. They don't need to be condemned, they need compassion. We must look for ways to be a source of kindness because God is in the business of turning our mistakes into moments of grace. You are about to hear the story of how we all can be blessed to be caught in the grip of God's grace.

A Minute in the Church

Gus Lloyd

Do Catholics read the Bible? Why do Catholics honor Mary? What is with all of these statues? Usually people object to the Catholic Faith based on Scriptual grounds. They claim the teachings of the Catholic Church are contrary to the clear teachings of the Bible, and these misrepresentations have led countless souls out of the Church. However, Scripture read in context fully supports Catholic teachings. Apologetics is all about knowing why we do what we do and believe what we believe. It is building the case for our Faith, learning how to explain and defend our Faith. "Always be ready to give an explanation to anyone who ask for a reason for your hope."-1Peter 3:15. Can we defend our church in a minute?

Divorce Proof Your Marriage Part 2

Jimmy Seghers

A traditional wedding vow might include the following phrases, "... to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish from this day forward until death do us part. This I promise to you before God". It is reported that the average bride to be in the U.S. spends well over 1000 hours choreographing each moment of the day she will say the vows. At some point in time, in over half of all U.S. marriages, one or both partners in the marriage find themselves unhappy. The obvious answer is to chuck it all, split us the assets, pay the attoreys umpteen thousands of dollars and hope to find someone else who will make you happy - at least that is what the world would have believe. God has a somewhat different plan. Husbands are to love their wives as much as they love themselves (Eph. 5:33). Wives are to help and respect her husband. That's it, that's God's plan - love and respect.
