God promised Abraham a large progeny, but after giving him a son God tests Abraham's faith by telling him to sacrifice his only son. Antediluvian - that period of time before the Great Flood. Noah proclaimed the message of salvation, but men didn't listen. So, God declared He would destroy the earth, but "Noah found Grace in the eyes of the Lord". This is a story teaching of what will be coming...judgment from God for our sinfulness.
