Genesis 22

The Lord Will Provide

God promised Abraham a large progeny, but after giving him a son God tests Abraham's faith by telling him to sacrifice his only son. Of note, this is the first time in the Bible the word "love" is used. Abraham bows to the will of God, even not knowing what will happen on the mountain.


Definition: hermeneutics [plural in form but singular or plural in construction]: the study of the methodological principles of interpretation (as of the Bible).
