A King Servant

March 18, 2018 • Pastor Barbara Fite • 1 Samuel 16:14–23

Being called and anointed by God but having to serve the one we will one day replace. Using what God has given you to benefit someone else is a character trait that many do not have, but as servants of God we have to learn that it’s not for our glory or benefit but it’s for God’s. Even if we are in a leadership position we still have to serve those who are over us. We can’t expect to be served if we aren’t willing to serve. David was not only capable but he was willing.

That the servants of God realize first of all that we are only the vessels that God chooses to use. We can't nor should we take credit for anything God does through us. The second thing is that we can't just call on Yeshua’s name based on the fact that someone else did and a miracle was performed. We have to have Him on the inside of us. Evil spirits recognize the difference between power and game. It's time that we stop acting like we have His power an invest in getting His power.
