Jesus isn't looking for people that he can depend on, rather he's looking for people who depend on him. Greatness in the kingdom is hearing the voice of Jesus, and responding.

We see Jesus give up a freedom for the sake of the people around him's openness to receiving the gospel. His message was more important than his authority over taxes.

Today, we're examining Jesus' transfiguration; when he brought a few select disciples to a high mountain and there appeared Elijah and Moses alongside a brightly shining Jesus. Also present is the visible Glory of God, telling the disciples that we are to listen to Jesus. That faith in Jesus overshadows both the prophets as well as the law.
