Hearing & Doing
February 23, 2025 • Scott Leddy • James 1:22–25
The idea of discipleship has slowly morphed into a predominately informational concept. We feel as though once we've learned enough about Christian beliefs we've been discipled. This is why so often we're worried about someone asking a question that we can't answer. It's all about having the information rather than living out what we know to be true. We need to ask ourselves if we are primarily "hearers" of the word or "doers" of the word.
Year in Review
December 29, 2024 • Rob Mikesic • Jeremiah 12, Jeremiah 29, Jeremiah 1
The holiday season brings cheer, excitement and anticipation for so many, but that is not everyone’s story. It’s also filled with suffering pain and loss. As we conclude this year and reflect back, it’s a year filled with successes, joys, and triumphs; but also struggles and hardship. Our comfort and peace is in knowing that Jesus overcame all that this world had thrown at him. As we strengthen our faith, it will help us handle situations, deal with pain, and overcome suffering.
God's Creation
June 30, 2024 • Rob Mikesic • Romans 1:18–21, Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created… As believers we hold to this truth, but as we begin to learn more about science and our world it seems this truth is being replaced. The debate isn’t science vs creation; it’s discussion on how science compliments what we already know of God. The God of creation is also the God who created science.
Father's Reach
June 16, 2024 • Matthew 6:9–13
Jesus taught us that we can have a relationship with the Almighty God. Through Jesus we can be adopted into God's family as His children. Our adversary wants to distort our image of a father. In doing so the devil wants to draw us away from reaching out to God.
In the Know
May 12, 2024 • Rob Mikesic
In Numbers 22, the Israelites are encamped outside of Moab. Balak, the Moabite King, is faced with a decision…what to do? He had knowledge of the Hebrews. Balak's failure to use all the information and seek more led to eternal implications for him and his people. We too are faced with much information and knowledge of Jesus. Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do you say I am?” How this question is handled has eternal implications for us as well.
