A Series of Unfortunate Events
In spite of every bad decision, every unfortunate event or crisis, God is always in control
David Returns
November 8, 2020 • Jay Scott • 2 Samuel 19
» God is still good and still in control. »In times of crisis, we have moments when we lose our “center.” In those moments we may need someone, a “non-anxious presence,” to help us take a step back to regain perspective. »We are all good people, but we all have a propensity to walk away from God. »We either accept the greatest gift ever given or we deny the gift. We have a choice. What is your choice? Scripture: 2 Samuel 19 Speaker: Jay Scott Website: http://worthingtoncc.org Online Campus: http://live.worthingtoncc.org

Saul Disobeys God
September 27, 2020 • Jay Scott • 1 Samuel 15—16
What did King Saul do that was so displeasing to God? Typically, things that don't start well, don't end well. (God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.) God looks at the heart, while man looks at appearance. Scripture: 1 Samuel 15 & 16 Speaker: Jay Scott Website: https://worthingtoncc.org Online Campus: https://live.worthingtoncc.org
Israel asks for a King
September 20, 2020 • Jay Scott • 1 Samuel 8—9
God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. They said to him, “You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have” (1 Samuel 8:5). And the Lord told him: "Listen to all that the people are saying to you; it is not you they have rejected, but they have rejected me as their king" (1 Samuel 8:7). Stop asking yourself, “Why can’t my story be someone else’ story?” God’s NOT DONE writing your story!
