Christmas

Wherever you are celebrating the incredible gift of Jesus this Christmas day, our prayer is that we can all believe that because of Jesus, the best is yet to be!
On behalf of our entire church family at Worthington Christian Church, we wish you a Merry Christmas and will see you on New Year's Day!
True Grit
December 18, 2022 • Austin Seevers • Matthew 1:18–25, Hebrews 12:1–2
True grit is remaining faithful -- it is spiritual toughness. But how do we get it?
1. It comes through the power of the Spirit.
2. It comes through reading the Word of God.
3. It comes through consistent prayer.
Can I Trust the Bible?
December 11, 2022 • Jay Scott • Luke 1:1–4, Luke 1:26–35
The New Testament withstands the test of historical accuracy. Did you know there are more manuscripts of the N.T. than any of Plato, Caesar, and Homer's works combined? It’s true!
Plato has 7 manuscripts, Caesar (Gallic Wars) has 10, and Homer (Iliad) has 643. The New Testament has 23,986 with the earliest fragment found less than 100 years after Jesus' resurrection. It’s accurate!
The main reason so many people struggle with the Word of God isn't due to the perception that it is historically inaccurate or unreliable, it is because it will challenge our entire worldview and how we live our life. It is only when we embrace the word of God as truth and allow ourselves to grow in grace that we come to see and believe who God really is.
Mary Treasured
December 4, 2022 • Jay Scott • Luke 2:8–21
The word "treasure" means to "preserve." Mary preserved the details of Jesus' birth in her heart. The reason Luke records the most detailed description of Jesus' birth is likely because of Mary. She preserved these things for us, so that we may believe.
