Winning the War in Your Mind

April 23, 2023 • Jay Scott • Psalm 46:1, Philippians 4:6–8, Ephesians 2:8, Hebrews 13:5

Some of the lies we allow ourselves to believe are:

1. I’m not worthy.

(The truth: Eph. 2:8, “For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it’s a gift of God—not by works so no one can boast.”)

2. I’m all alone.

(The truth: Psalm 46:1, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”)

3. I’m not safe.

(The truth: Phil. 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Jesus.”)

4. The future is only to be feared.

(The truth: Phil. 1:6, “being confident in this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Hebrews 13:5 says, “Never will I leave you never will I forsake you.”)
