Even though times will grow even harder on the earth in the days preceding Christ's return, Christians are not supposed to be filled with or driven by fear. The world realizes that fear moves people and they use fear as a tactic to control them. However, Christians have been liberated from the bondage of fear and have been given the Holy Spirit. Even as Christians, we don't always realize that God is watching us and sees how we treat or mistreat others so that He can deal with us about wrong behavior. Whether we're saved or sinners, we are all held accountable to the Lord for the way we live our lives. This is why the Lord tells us in His Word that if we sow to the flesh, we will reap corruption. If we sow to the Spirit, we will reap by the Spirit, life and peace. As children of God, we ought to hold ourselves accountable to obey God, so that He can reward us for our obedience and not have to punish us for our disobedience.
