On the first day of the week, faithful women purchase spices and make their way to Jesus’ tomb to anoint him. Upon arriving, they find that the stone had been rolled away and are met by an angel who shares the glorious news that Jesus is no longer there but had risen from the dead! While they were the first witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus, we today stand with them and declare that our victorious Lord has conquered death and risen from the grave.
