It matters who we listen to. David was skilled in knowing who to listen to and who to ignore. As we seek wise counselors in our lives we must find people that have our ultimate good as their ultimate priority and who are seeking the Lord.

Israel failed to receive God's blessings in an epic way. God's blessings were right in front of them for the taking instead, they decided to blend in with the culture and worshipped other gods, forgetting their own until they absolutely needed Him. But God was faithful to keep His covenant and work His plan in spite of their disobedience.
