Ecclesiastes asks hard questions, "What is the lasting significance of our life? What is the point of all the work and effort we put into things? How do we live well in a world that seems so chaotic and absurd?" Ironically through examining the reality of time and death, we are taught a message that gives life and vigor to our everyday experiences. In the most postmodern book in the bible, we learn that life from God is a gift and not for gain.
