The Light Has Come

Jesus is the light of the world. He came to push back the darkness and point the world to God the Father. We celebrate the gift of Jesus at Christmas and we rise up to the holy calling put on each of us as His followers to take His light into the world.

Advent is all about Spiritual Warfare. Christ came to win a war on our behalf. God became man in order to do what no man before him could do. To beat up the strongman that holds us captive. In Luke 4, the showdown between Jesus and the forces of darkness begins. This battle hinges on the identity and authority of Jesus. If Jesus is the Son of God, he has the power to save us. If He isn’t, we need to look elsewhere, it is that simple. In this message we see Jesus tempted and rejected, but ultimately He is triumphant. He succeeds where every human before Him failed.
