Did Jesus Compete with Satan to Become Savior of the World?

QUESTION FOR MORMONS: Do you believe that Jesus and Lucifer (Satan) competed against each other for the position of Savior? LDS Church Doctrine teaches that Jesus and Lucifer (a.k.a Satan) are literal spirit brothers born in a spirit world to an exalted mother and father, who Mormons call God the Father and Heavenly Mother. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches that Jesus and Satan jockeyed for the position of Redeemer with Lucifer presenting a plan to save the world after Jesus presented his plan. According to Mormon Scripture, God chose Jesus' plan over Lucifer's plan, so Lucifer became angry and fell from heaven, taking 1/3 of the spirit sons with him to become Satan and his demons. This teaching is completely contrary to Christian doctrine and Biblical teaching which teaches that Jesus is God who created all things, including Satan (John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-19). Satan is not Jesus' spirit brother, nor did Satan fall for trying to become "Savior of the world." Rather, the Bible teaches that Satan fell for trying to exalt himself to become "like" God (Isaiah 14:12-14), which is the very lie Satan told Eve, when she ate the forbidden fruit to become "as gods" (Genesis 3:5). This lie of Satan is continually promoted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Lorenzo Snow couplet "“As man now is, God once was: “As God now is, man may be."
