QUESTION FOR MORMONS: Is Joseph Smith a Good Example to Follow? Joseph Smith is often held up in the Mormon Church as a man of "Integrity," someone to whom Mormons should look up to emulate and follow. Yet, the History of the LDS Church demonstrates quite the opposite. Not only did Joseph Smith deceive people on his false doctrines about God and salvation, he lied under oath in a court of law and to Emma (his first wife) about how many wives he was actually married to. This demonstrates that Joseph Smith did not possess the proper character to be called by God as a prophet for His church.
