DO YOU WANT to be healed? Do you really want it? Joh 5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Joh 5:2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, in Aramaic called Bethesda, which has five roofed colonnades. Joh 5:3 In these lay a multitude of invalids—blind, lame, and paralyzed. 1. *We live in a society that loves excuses. We build around crutches for people not to accomplish God’s will in their lives.* Joh 5:5 One man was there who had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. Joh 5:6 When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” 1. *This is the question isn’t it? We all want change we just don’t want to change. * * Where is the line or threshold for your commitment?* Joh 5:7 The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” 1. *What is your reason for not being who God wanted you to be? where does it come from.* Joh 5:8 Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.” Joh 5:9 And at once the man was healed, and he took up his bed and walked. Now that day was the Sabbath. 1. *You cannot operate on a “one foot in and one foot out” mentality. If you want healing throw the bed (the thing you cling to) away and walk.* *Life group Questions:* Why do we have issues with totally selling out to God? What crutches or excuses do you have for remaining in sin? Finish this sentence: “I would do anything for my faith, unless I have to*______* Why can’t we make up our mind concerning our commitment to faith or to ourselves?
