Faith Over Fear

Faith Over Fear 5: Choose Whom you will Serve

October 24, 2021

We all want to live an abundant life, but who are we following to get it? There are plenty of options for us to consider. All those options over promise and under deliver, except for the God of the Bible. He gives first, and then invites us into a relationship with him, where we continually receive. We see this most clearly in Jesus who invites us to commit to an exclusive relationship with him. Only Jesus will give you the abundant life you seek. (Based on Joshua 24:1-5, 14-18.)

Faith Over Fear 4: Marking Memories that Matter

October 17, 2021

Memories from the past often direct us in the future, but that future can go awry because we tend to remember our pain and past failures. While we cannot choose what memories we have, we can choose which memories we emphasize. God is inviting us to make and mark new memories based on his faithfulness. Those God-given memory markers can be signs of hope and encouragement for the future for us and for others. (Based on Joshua 4:1-7, 19-24.)

Faith Over Fear 3: Cross the Jordan

October 10, 2021

It is not uncommon for us to become anxious when faced with an overwhelming, no-turning-back decision. But as we let God speak into our lives and hear the knowledge and vision he has for us, we are able to make challenging decisions and act on them, confident in God because he partners with us as we move forward in faith. (Based on Joshua 3:7-17.)

Faith Over Fear 2: Help from Unexpected Places

October 3, 2021

Sometimes life can beat us down so hard that it is hard for us to believe that any good of lasting significance could come from our life. The story of Rahab shows us that God works through anyone to accomplish great things. With Jesus’ loving kindness as the foundation of our life, we are able to move forward with faith over fear. (Based on Joshua 2:1-14.)

Faith Over Fear 1: New Beginnings

September 26, 2021

It is natural for us to become anxious when stress caused by change looms large in our life. But letting anxiety lead us can cause us to step out of God’s plan for our life. God has a better way. He encourages and strengthens through the power of his presence. (Based on Joshua 1:1-9.)
