Making Jesus the Hero

We've all encountered someone in our lives who impressed us with their talent, charm and charisma, making it easy to want to align ourselves with them. We'll see an incident in our text that Paul and Barnabas encountered that demonstrates how ill-advised it is to idolize a human person, and instead shows us the need to keep Christ on the throne of our hearts.

Countering Idolatry with the Gospel

As Paul continues to share the gospel in Athens, he encounters an alter inscribed with "TO AN UNKNOWN GOD." Seems silly to not know what or who you are worshiping, doesn't it? But Paul used this situation to share who God is to a people who did not know him. Will we be people bold with the Gospel, and able to share Christ in any circumstance?
