King David was acquainted with trials. And David uses the present tense the Lord “IS” my Shepherd. Jesus as our Shepherd, protects, guides, tends, feeds, restores, comforts, anoints, and satisfies as He places us on paths of righteousness where we find rest for our souls. David was also a shepherd but in Psalm 23 he positions himself as one of God’s sheep. We want to know Him this way. Walk upright before Him and see His goodness and mercy follow.
