Youth for Hope Education Night

Human Trafficking Awareness & Prevention

September 27, 2026
5:30 - 7:30pm

Knowledge and open conversation can be powerful tools in helping protect our students. Weddington Youth Ministry is partnering with our Local Missions local agency, Fields of Hope, for a special educational evening for parents/guardians and students in grades 8–12. This time together will focus on awareness, prevention, and practical ways families can navigate important issues facing young people today.

During this age-appropriate presentation, Fields of Hope will help families better understand human trafficking, including sex trafficking and sextortion, recognize potential risks and warning signs, and learn ways parents and students can respond and seek help.

What to Expect:

This event will take place during our regular Sunday Night Youth gathering. All students will begin the evening together with dinner at 5:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center. Following dinner, registered students in grades 8–12 and participating parents/guardians will remain in the Family Life Center for the Fields of Hope presentation.

Students in grades 6–7, as well as students in grades 8–12 who are not participating in the presentation, will move to the Youth Center for regular Sunday Night Youth.

Parent/Guardian Permission

Due to the nature of the discussion, advance registration and parent/guardian permission are required for students participating in the Fields of Hope presentation.
