Are You Ready Matthew 25:1-13 1. The inauguration of the church age. 2 Cor 2:6, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. Acts 1:3; 8-11 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. 10 They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? When Will Christ Return?

When Will Christ Return Matthew 24:29 Revelation 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying in midair, and he had the eternal gospel to proclaim to those who live on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language and people. 1. Jesus is coming back. 1 Thes 4:17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Rapture: “to seize, snatch away,” which is equivalent to the meaning of the Greek word harpazõ in https://www.esv.org/verses/1%2520thessalonians%25204:17/ (“caught up”). Pre-Tribulation Rapture: This view maintains the rapture occurs when Jesus comes secretly to gather the church prior a seven-year Great Tribulation that precedes the return of Christ to earth. Mid-Tribulation Rapture: This is similar to the pre-tribulation view except that it locates the rapture after the first three-and-half years at the point when the Anti-Christ assumes power. Pre-Wrath Rapture: This position argues that the rapture will occur toward the end of the tribulation before the outpouring of God’s wrath with the bowl judgments (https://www.esv.org/verses/rev.%252016/) prior to the return of Christ. Post-Tribulation: This view sees the rapture as occurring simultaneous to the return of Christ at the end of the Tribulation. 2. We don’t know when the imminent return of Christ will take place. 3. Signs of the Times Matthew 24:1-25 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. Epoch 1 – Birth Pains v. 4-8 1 Thes 5:3 for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. Epoch 2 – Intensification v. 9-14 Epoch 3 - Tribulation v. 15-28 Daniel 7:13-14: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven.
