Psalm 92

Psalm 92 is, in its own words, "a song for the Sabbath," a song for the day set aside for rest and worship. Psalm 92 affirms the goodness of giving thanks and singing praises together to the LORD, who graciously brings rest (Psalm 92:7-9) and flourishing (Psalm 92:12-15) to his people. To sing this psalm we set lyrics by Christopher Idle (©Jubilate Hymns) to an original melody and refrain. This recording features Joel Stamoolis on vocals and guitar, Laura Goertzen on vocals, Lauryn Pealatere on djembe, Naomi Stamoolis on English horn, and Andrea Sandefur on vocals and piano.

Psalm 98 (Joy to the World)

Psalm 98 is a joyful call to praise the LORD who has done marvelous things and who will come to judge the earth (Psalm 98:1, 9). To sing this psalm we used Isaac Watts famous paraphrase of verses 4-9, "Joy to the World" (1719). This recording features Willy Shelton, Andrea Sandefur, and Kimberly Hopkins on vocals, Joel Stamoolis on vocals and guitar, Heidi Friese on piano, Dexter Tucker on alto saxophone, Herb Dunham and David Tollerud on trumpet, Brian Beaudry on bass guitar, and Jeremy Bloomstrom on drums.

Psalm 97

Psalm 97 rejoices in the LORD's reign over all creation. To sing this psalm we set lyrics from David Preston (©Jubilate Hymns) to a melody by Thomas Tallis (1561), adding an original refrain.
