Psalm 36

"Your love, O LORD, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds." In a world gone wrong, Psalm 36 looks to the steadfast love of the LORD. To sing Psalm 36 we wrote cantor verses to the song "Your Love, O Lord" by Mac Powell, Brad Avery, David Carr, Mark Lee and Tai Anderson (©1999 New Spring). This recording features Joel Stamoolis on vocals and bass, Naomi Stamoolis on vocals, Sean Tracy on vocals and guitar, Maggie Chapman on flute, Tanya Galloway on piano, and Igor Galloway on drums.

Psalm 47

Psalm 47 calls all peoples, all nations to sing to the LORD, for the LORD God is "King of all the earth" (Psalm 47:7). God chose Jacob as his heritage, so that through them all nations may be blessed, may be "the people of the God of Abraham" (Psalm 47:9) To sing Psalm 47 we wrote an original paraphrase to a traditional Zulu melody. This recording features Joel Stamoolis on vocals and guitar, Willy Shelton and Elizabeth Rodgers on vocals, Dale Tumey on tenor saxophone, John Rodgers on electric guitar, Anne-Renee Gumley on piano, Heath Hassen on bass guitar, and Igor Galloway on drums.

Psalm 46

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). Even in the midst of troubled times, God's people can rest in the knowledge that God is present with them and that he will ultimately be exalted. To sing Psalm 46 we used an original setting familiar to our congregation. This recording features Joel Stamoolis on vocals and guitar, Willy Shelton and Elizabeth Rodgers on vocals, John Rodgers on electric guitar, Anne-Renee Gumley on piano, Heath Hassen on bass guitar, and Igor Galloway on drums.

Psalm 45

Psalm 45 is a love song to the messianic king, a king who is addressed both as man, "You are the most handsome of the sons of men" (Psalm 45:2), and as God, "Your throne, O God is forever and ever" (Psalm 45:6, Hebrews 1:8). Psalm 45 inspired the great hymn "Fairest Lord Jesus". To sing Psalm 45, we used the psalm adaptation "Fairest of All" written by Shane Barnard and Sean Carter (©2015 Songs from the Wellhouse) and recorded by Shane and Shane.
