Covetousness is the greedy desire for more that never knows the freedom, peace, and joy of simply saying, “I have enough.” Sometimes it is driven by a sense of injustice. Other times is fueled by an ever expanding appetite for pleasure. Often it is the harried press of worry that keeps us grasping for more. Whatever the type of greed there is only one way to deal with it: listen to Jesus. This will be our goal today.

The Christian witness is simple. It is foundational. It is defendable. And it is, above all, Good News. This Resurrection Sunday we gather to give voice to that witness as God’s People holding to God’s Word, filled by God’s Spirit. “The Lord has risen indeed!”
