Psalm 74 laments the utter destruction of the temple, the place where God's name and glory dwelt. In his anguish, the psalmist cries out to God, asking God to remember his people, his dwelling place, his covenant, and the scoffing of the enemy. In the fullness of time, the glorious presence of God did return to Zion. Psalm 74 has been, is being, and will be answered in Jesus, the true and greater temple.
