Psalm 45 is a love song to the messianic king, a king who is addressed both as man, "You are the most handsome of the sons of men" (Psalm 45:2), and as God, "Your throne, O God is forever and ever" (Psalm 45:6, Hebrews 1:8). Psalm 45 inspired the great hymn "Fairest Lord Jesus".
