We learned about conflict, forgiveness, reconciliation, and atonement. When people we love and trust have done something to hurt us, we’re left with three options: retaliation, retreat, or restoration. Restoration is hard even when there’s repentance! What do you if you find yourself in the middle of the offender and the offended? This is the position Paul places himself in, in the book of Philemon as he addresses the conflict between two brothers within the church. One is named Philemon whose name means loving and the other is Onesimus, whose name mean useful.
