After the reign of Solomon, the kings of Israel did evil in the sight of the Lord. God set apart Elijah and used him as a prophet to confront some of these rulers, but not without great challenges. As a result of his obedience to the Lord, Elijahโs life was on the line and he felt like the end was near for him. But God reminded Elijah of what was true in the midst of his distressโGod is great and good. Today, letโs get insights from Godโs faithfulness to restore Elijah so that he may go and speak Godโs truth, even in the face of death.

Elijah rose against the evil rulers of his time and performed miraculous signs, proving that God is above all. But when they threatened to kill him, he was ๐ข๐ง๐ณ๐ข๐ช๐ฅ and ๐ณ๐ข๐ฏ ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ฉ๐ช๐ด ๐ญ๐ช๐ง๐ฆ. From being bold, Elijah became so anxious and distraught that he asked God to take his life because he thought that he was the only one left who believed in God. Even when we obey God, we will face challenges. When life becomes overwhelming, it may seem easier to give up and even wallow in sadness. As Elijah was hiding, God came to him. Twice, He told Elijah to rest and provided food for him to regain his strength. In Godโs holy presence, Elijah eventually told Him all his concerns. God tended to Elijah throughout his physical, mental, and emotional struggles. God showed His power and reminded Elijah that He was there for him. When we become vulnerable before God, His presence comforts us and His word aligns our hearts to His so that we can trust Him again. Recall a time when God brought you through a difficult time. When God restored Elijah, He also reinforced his calling. God sent him a helper, Elisha, and told him that there are still 7,000 who are faithful to Him so that he wouldnโt feel alone. At the word of the Lord, Elijah again obeyed. Though Elijah resisted what God was doing at first, God still entrusted this responsibility to him. Even in our weakness, God builds our faith and enables us to pursue His purpose for our lives. What has God called you to do in this season?
