The life of a Christian is one that is centered in loving God and people. This could be a daunting task, given our limitations and the different circumstances we face every day. The disciples possibly felt the same way when Jesus told them that He would ascend to heaven. But Jesus promised a Helper. Through the Holy Spirit, we find a great source of comfort and joy that Christianity is not lived by our own ability but with Godโs presence and power. Today, we will look at the benefits of the Holy Spirit and how these truths help shape our lives.

One of the greatest blessings in the life of a Christian is the presence of God. Knowing God and having an intimate relationship with Him becomes a reality to us because His very Spirit lives in us. As Christians, we are assured of our salvation because the Holy Spirit seals our salvation and bears witness that we are Godโs children. Because the Holy Spirit dwells in us, we are united with Jesus. We have access to every spiritual blessing that God has for us in Christ. When weโre anxious or afraid, we can find joy, peace, and comfort in the Holy Spirit in us. How have you experienced this in your life?

A person can read and understand the contents of the Bible. However, the Bible is not meant to be just a source of information about God. It is a revelation of who He is and what He has done. This cannot be accomplished through human ability, but through the work of the Spirit, who reveals the truth to every believer. We are able to understand who God really is because the Holy Spirit opens our eyes and our minds. When we engage the Bible through reading, hearing, and obeying the word, the Holy Spirit helps us to know and understand Godโs truth. What does John 14:26 say?

The Holy Spirit is our Helper, someone who empowers believers to face the ups and downs of life with faith and assurance in God. Knowing Godโs Spirit will always be with us, we can boldly live a life that is defined by the gospel and confidently pursue His call to be His hands and feet to the people around us. The Holy Spirit empowers us to share who Jesus is to our friends, families, and to the communities around us. What are the other ways the Holy Spirit helps us in pursuing Godโs call for us? โข Pray for God to reveal to you the spiritual gifts He has blessed you with as you obey His call and mission to preach the gospel to and serve those around you.
