As children we resist taking medicine because the taste can be off putting. Children are not willing to experience short-term displeasure for long-term benefit because they are shortsighted. But as adults, we are no longer shortsighted and understand the benefits of medicine even if it is distasteful at first. God’s has medicine for us called forgiveness that is good for us physically, emotionally, and spiritually even if it seems like a bitter pill at first.
