Navigating Uncertainty

Sometimes we must admit we do not know what is doing on around us. We feel like a horse that has been blindfolded to lead it out of a burning barn. That horse must have a lot of confidence in the quiet, assuring voice of the handler. Do you trust in God that way? Do you hear His assuring voice, or do you make too much noise? I want to share some things I have learned that have helped me navigate uncertainty much more confidently.

Don't Be Provoked!

The world is trying to think for you. And if you don’t respond when they tell you to, they will often try to provoke you into a response with condescending, disrespectful and flat-out insulting rhetoric that is not necessarily fact-based – just read Emporia Chat on Facebook. We must capture everything we see and hear, filter it through the teachings of Christ and formulate a Spirit-led response based on truth, laced with grace and delivered in God’s timing.

As If It Never Happened

In our offended and unforgiving culture, it is more important than ever to know how to live free from the bondage of offendedness. We can become the most unoffendable people on the face of the earth because no one has the grace we possess.

Life's Highest Delight

Man has always been seeking delightful things; things that make him happy. God is not opposed to us having the delights of our heart – things that bring pleasure and happiness – because He created all good things. But if we purse them the wrong way, it can open a door of opportunity to darkness.
