Riding into Jerusalem, Jesus was hailed and honored by the same people who would call for his death just days later. He wasn't the kind of king anyone expected, but he was exactly the king that we needed: the humble king who would conquer sin + death forever through his suffering and resurrection.
"Empty Tombs" (Easter Sunday)
March 31, 2024 • Brad Parkhurst
The New Testament is full of empty tombs, because Jesus is all about RESURRECTION LIFE. Wherever he goes, the dead are raised and the old is made new. By putting our faith in his death and resurrection, we can leave our tombs behind just like he did, and follow him into abundant life.

In this family, we consider it a privilege to be a part of what God's doing in our church, our community, and in the world. Our church doesn't function by the vocations of a few, but by the commitment and sacrifice of the many. Hear from some of our team members as they share their heart for serving in our VLC family.

The first words Jesus speaks in John's gospel account are when he looks at Andrew and John following him and asks, "What do you want?" The Son of God meets us where we are and invites us to share the deepest desires of our heart with him, knowing that ultimately what HE wants is to give us rest for our souls.
"God-Breathed"
November 3, 2024 • Brad Parkhurst • 2 Timothy 3
When God breathed the breath of life into the dust, man was created. Now his breath resurrects dead people who put their faith in the saving work of Jesus, and he breathes wisdom and power through his word given to us in the scriptures.
