"The Grace of Giving"

To Paul, giving is a "grace": a source of joy and delight. It's something that a fully-connected disciple excels in, as much as things like faith, knowledge, or love. Christ exchanged his riches for ultimate poverty, so that through his poverty we might be made rich! As his followers, we come under the way of Jesus and allow it to transform us as we embrace the grace of generosity.

THE WAY //

2 Corinthians is arguably the most heartfelt, emotional letter we have from the Apostle Paul. As he writes to his friends in Corinth and addresses some of the challenges they're facing, he encourages them to embrace the life that Jesus modeled. Christians, originally known as "followers of the Way", are empowered by the Holy Spirit to take on a new way of living, one that draws strength from weakness, humility, and generosity.

"The Way Of Comfort"

In the opening of his letter, Paul gives praise to "the God of all comfort" who gives strength to those who are suffering, and reminds them that we are comforted SO THAT we can pass on the strength that we've received to others around us. "Yes & Amen"

In this section of Paul's letter to the Corinthians, we see how much Paul loved the people of this church, even to the point of having difficult conversations that challenged them and called them higher. The same should be true in our relationships with one another, as we fight to stay unified, call out sin, and be guarded against the strategies of our very real Enemy.
