“I have now to ask whether you can consent to part with your daughter early next spring, to see her no more in this world? Whether you can consent to her departure to a heathen land, and her subjection to the hardships and sufferings of a missionary life? Whether you can consent to her exposure to the dangers of the ocean; to the fatal influence of the southern climate of India; to every kind of want and distress; to degradation, insult, persecution, and perhaps a violent death? Can you consent to all this, for the sake of Him who left His heavenly home and died for her and for you; for the sake of perishing, immortal souls; for the sake of Heaven and the glory of God? Can you consent to all this, in hope of soon meeting your daughter in the world of glory?” “She can make up her own mind.” "I feel willing and expect, if nothing in providence prevents, to spend my days in this world in heathen lands. Will I Follow God?

Have you been waiting for God to interrupt your life, grab you and force you to follow him? Are you ready to choose Jesus over anything else in life? Do you step away from Jesus when his way is different than your way? Are you willing to do life Jesus’ way? Deny your way and choose his? Is there anything in your life you’d be ashamed of, embarrassed by, or unwilling to give Jesus? Are you willing to be fully exposed in order to live the life guide created you to live? Alone isn't an option. Build Trust Consume Truth Is desire, denial, or devotion your biggest struggle? Why? What will you do today to take one step toward following Jesus?
