Pray Like a Child

April 7, 2024 • Charley Carpenter • Luke 11:1–13, John 1:12

Prayer is an involuntary reflex of the soul.

When we are in situations beyond ourselves, the cry of our soul becomes loud enough for us to hear.

If you want to know what’s in your basement, surprise it. C.S. Lewis

Shameless Audacity-Rudeness, discourtesy. To bother God.

Your Father would give you everything you want if you knew everything He knows.

Is the shameless audacity of a child characteristic of your prayers?

How can you approach God as a child this week?

Lord’s Prayer:

Our Father, who is in Heaven, Hallowed by your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen!

The fruit of an apple is not an apple tree, but an apple orchard. Give me one person I can help follow Jesus this year. Who will you “fish for" this year?
