Then the Lord said to me, “Call his name Maher-shalal-hash-baz;  4 for before the boy knows how to cry ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria will be carried away before the king of Assyria.” 5 The Lord spoke to me again:  6 “Because this people has refused the waters of Shiloah that flow gently, and rejoice over Rezin and the son of Remaliah,  7 therefore, behold, the Lord is bringing up against them the waters of the River, mighty and many, the king of Assyria and all his glory. And it will rise over all its channels and go over all its banks,  8 and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, reaching even to the neck, and its outspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.”

Bailey Bartolucci and Brian Bowman discuss the sermon from Isaiah 5:1-7 If you missed the sermon, you can listen to it here: https://valleylifechurch-az.http://subspla.sh/ptcgrvc Isaiah 5:1-7 The Vineyard of the Lord Destroyed 5   1 Let me sing for my beloved     my love song concerning his vineyard: My beloved had a vineyard     on a very fertile hill. 2  He dug it and cleared it of stones,     and planted it with choice vines; he built a watchtower in the midst of it,     and hewed out a wine vat in it; and he looked for it to yield grapes,     but it yielded wild grapes. 3  And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem     and men of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard. 4  What more was there to do for my vineyard,     that I have not done in it? When I looked for it to yield grapes,     why did it yield wild grapes? 5  And now I will tell you     what I will do to my vineyard. I will remove its hedge,     and it shall be devoured; I will break down its wall,     and it shall be trampled down. 6  I will make it a waste;     it shall not be pruned or hoed,     and briers and thorns shall grow up; I will also command the clouds     that they rain no rain upon it. 7  For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts     is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah     are his pleasant planting; and he looked for justice,     but behold, bloodshed; for righteousness,     but behold, an outcry!

Sermon Recap: Righteousness and Peace Kiss

October 15, 2023 • Brian Bowman, Daniel Harvill

Daniel Harvill and Brian Bowman discuss the sermon from 2 John 1:1-13 If you missed the sermon, you can listen to it here: https://valleylifechurch-az.http://subspla.sh/5wpjkqz 2 John 1:1-13 1 The elder, To the lady chosen by God and to her children, whom I love in the truth—and not I only, but also all who know the truth—  2 because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever: 3 Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love. 4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.  5 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.  6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love. 7 I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.  8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully.  9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.  10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them.  11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work. 12 I have much to write to you, but I do not want to use paper and ink. Instead, I hope to visit you and talk with you face to face, so that our joy may be complete. 13 The children of your sister, who is chosen by God, send their greetings.
